Risk-Free Trial Employment
If eligible, the Risk-Free Trial Employment program is up to six weeks of a risk-free opportunity for employers and job seekers to work together toward a successful job match. During the 6 weeks, businesses DO NOT pay or withhold:
- Unemployment Insurance
- Workers Compensation Insurance
- State taxes
- Federal taxes
- Employee benefits such as health, dental etc.
If, at the completion of the training and assessment period, the employer is satisfied that the candidate is suited to the job, the worker is added to regular payroll.
In the On-the-job Training program, the employer hires the individual during the training period with the understanding of an expected hiring after the training period. The program typically lasts between 2 and 6 weeks depending upon skill development needs, after which employers may are reimbursed for training expenses. The reimbursement is agreed upon based on duration of training, cost to the employer, supervisory time etc.
Internships are for individuals needing considerable training and/or workplace skill development. Under this program, the worker is covered under a risk management certificate. Workers may receive a per diem stipend during the program, typically spanning 2 to 12 weeks.
